Getting your GT-S5360 back on feet hassle free....

Owning a Galaxy-y since last year and the initial impression was good compared to the price it was tagged with. So far so good till few weeks back when it started behaving like possessed:

Prologue:

It would freeze suddenly, not taking any input, click any icon it will not start; press call button it would not call or try to write message nothing written and many more. Leave it for a while and then all the actions which  you did at the time of freeze getting dequeue one by one and it would appear a ghost operating the phone.
The best part was when I am trying to make a call and the call is not setting up and I am swiping my finger again and again on the name until the call is made. Best part happens when the call is put down, the moment the call is disconnected new call is automatically set-up and all the queued calls come one after another and now I have to end the call as many a times I had pressed call button during the hang state. Great isn't it .....
One perfect solution Desi style, battery out and int but the problem will repeat moments later.

So this weekend I decided to fix this and after several trial and error I have finally managed to get my phone back on its feet but at the loss of my address book. This small guide would help you to do the same without any loss: I would hope so..

Problem Statement:
GT-S5360 showing problem erratic movement and hang, key-queuing

Temptation:
Upgrade with latest firmware
Down side:
Can upgrade with latest firmware but problem can persist. If you have latest firmware you "cannot reinstall firmware using skies". So you can be tempted to use non-stock(unofficial) binary from internet and flash using Odin. This is not advisable for one the binary may not be clear and two it may lead to your warranty void apart from other problem like phone not working etc which may lead to more waste of time.

Solution:
Following is a step wise solution to a near perfect recovery without any loss assuming you are at latest version of firmware.

Step 1: First of all download a sms backup utility from Google play and backup you sms on external memory or PC because Kies does not do sms/mms backup. Most are free so it wont be an issue.
Step 2:  Download Kies connect your phone a make a backup restore point for your phone on PC.
Step 3: If phone is not having the latest version of firmware, get the latest version and upgrade your phone.
Step 4: Disconnect phone, even if the phone appear to work well following the steps below is recommended
Step 5: In your phone goto Setting-> Accounts and sync-> Manage account and remove your Samsung account if you have created one. It will ask for your password after which the account will be removed.
Step 6: Goto Setting->Privacy Setting and under personal data press factory reset.
Step 7 This will reset phone and remove all your account and additional settings, because you have already backed up this should not be problem, your phone will now have factory state.
Step 8: After above steps you need to add you Google and Samsung account again, after which you can connect to Kies restore backup, install same SMS backup and restore you messages and disconnect your phone from PC
Step 9: If there is no H/W failure your phone should be up and running as it was when you had purchased your dolly.
